WARRIOR® HOP PROFILE This hop has become the go-to bittering hop (Alpha Acid 15-18%) for many craft and commercial breweries across America. It was developed by Select Botanicals Groupand Yakima Chief Ranches in the Yakima Valley. It has a very mild aroma and contributes balanced flavor, but the bitter bite is sought after for bigger IPAs and many Imperial styles. Its high myrcene oil content contributes to its piney and zesty character.

Aroma/Flavor: Grapefruity , lemony, Pineapple, and some piney notes.
Alpha Acid: 15.0-18.0%

Developed by Washington State University and released in 2013, Cashmere is the result of a marriage of Cascade and Northern Brewer. Fortuitously, it features alpha acids higher than that of Cascade. A good dual-purpose hop, Cashmere showcases flavors lemon, lime and melon, exhibits a smooth bitterness and is mildly aromatic with a subtle herbal bouquet.

Ekuanot (formerly HBC 366) was commercially released in 2014 as “Equinox” by the Hops Breeding Company in Yakima, and subsequently renamed due to trademark issues. It has intense and unique fruity and citrus notes including melon, berry, citruslime, apple and papaya. Ekuanot also contains some spicy, green pepper note. This hop brand has high alpha acids content and high essential oil and is known for its vibrant yellow color during its early growth in the spring. Note Formerly HBC 366 and Equinox

A new experimental developed by John I. Haas and Brulotte Farms in the Yakima Valley. It is big and bold with a fruit-forward character that also offers clean bittering (13 - 15% AA). BRU-1 has a high Myrcene oil content that makes up over 50% of the total oil and contributes aromas of pineapple and stone fruit that is backed by a soft spice. Pale Ales and IPAs are the obvious styles, but might we are going to try brewing some funky Belgian styles. The breeder says BRU-1 pairs well with Citra, Chinook, and other U.S. aroma varieties.

One of the newest hops on the scene, Medusa™ is unlike anything you’ve encountered before. Native to Colorado and New Mexico, humulus lupulus neomexicanus is an entirely different species from its European cousin, humuls lupulus lupulus. Grown exclusively by CLS Farms in Yakima WA, where 8 different varieties of neo-mexicanus are being developed.

Crazy Mountain Brewing Company and Sierra Nevada have played with this hop so far, with fantastic results. Consumers are raving about these beers; Medusa™ at work.

Medusa™ delivers strong flavor and aroma characteristics of intense guava, melon, apricot and citrus fruit. Along with these highly desirable aroma and flavor characteristics, it comes in with low alpha levels. Excellent as an aroma hop in IPA’s, Pale Ales and anything that is looking for strong aromatics.

Probably one of the most striking features of this hops is it’s multi-headed cone; it adds to the allure and story of Medusa™, truly a unique hop that is sure to become the talk of the industry.
